Doom Multiplayer Modes Announced

Bethesda and ID software today announced all the multiplayer game modes for their reboot, DOOM. There are 6 multiplayer modes included. You can get a look at these multiplayer modes in the video below.

Soul Harvest, a Team Deathmatch type mode that requires you to dominate your opponents and collect their souls, similar to Kill confirmed in Call of Duty. There is more to it then just kill and collect though. The twist in this mode is the first person to die will leave behind a demon rune which has no time limit. Any players killed by the demon drop 2 souls instead of the 1. If you manage to slay the demon there’s 5 souls in it for you and a chance for you to become the demon if you get there first of course!

Freeze tag is another mode in which it requires you to kill the enemy team but instead of being killed straight away you are frozen solid, a friendly team member then has to thaw you or you die and respawn. Victory is earned by freezing the entire enemy team first.

Domination hands your team the task of capturing and holding three static capture points that are spread out across a map. Players spawn on different sides of the map, and can control the capture points by wiping out any enemies and standing within the designated zone. Points are earned based on how long you control a capture point. The twist on this game mode is that the demon rune spawns randomly across the map

Warpath is an interesting one, similar to the normal King of the Hill modes, the only difference is the zone is constantly moving along a set pathway which is marked out. You earn points for your team by staying in the zone for the longest amount of time.

Team Deathmatch doesn’t need much of an introduction, go out and kill everything on that isn’t on your team, demon and the like! In true DOOM style, power ups and weapon pick ups play a crucial part in this mode.

Clan Arena is a game of elimination, last team standing wins. There are no power ups, no demon runes, no health or armour pick ups. Just pure skill and luck. Once your dead you stay dead no re-spawning. The team which eliminates the other team first wins.

Doom’s multiplayer modes include:

  • Soul Harvest
  • Freeze Tag
  • Warpath
  • Domination
  • Team Deathmatch
  • Clan Arena

As announced earlier – HERE multiplayer beta starts on March 31st – April 3rd on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, and will be available to those that pre-ordered Wolfenstein: The New Order and redeemed their Beta code.
