Sniper Elite 4 announced, heading to PS4, Xbox One & PC in 2016

Sniper Elite 4 has been announced by Rebellion and will be releasing on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC later this year.

The game takes place after Sniper Elite 3 and sees players heading to Italy in 1943 as they play as marksman Karl Fairburne. You’ll be fighting alongside the Italian Resistance in their attempt to liberate their country from the yoke of Fascism and defeat a terrifying new threat with the potential to halt the Allied fightback in Europe before it’s even begun.

As Karl Fairburne players will stealth and snipe their way from the sun-drenched Mediterranean coastal towns to colossal Nazi megastructures, daunting forests and giddying mountain monasteries inspired by Monte Cassino. Rebellion also state that the maps in Sniper Elite 4 will be many times larger than those in Sniper Elite 3, offering breathless emergent stealth action and unrivaled sniping freedom.

Sniper Elite 4 will run in native 1080p on PS4 and Xbox One and will be the first game in the series to be built without the constraints of the last-generation, allowing for the developers to aim to deliver “the definitive World War Two shooter for a generation.”
In addition to the campaign, Sniper Elite 4 will also feature dedicated co-op and competitive multiplayer.
