Rumour: Destiny 2 Releasing on Nintendo Switch

Destiny 2 may be getting a release on the Nintendo Switch in the near future if a current rumour doing the rounds is to be believed.

According to an image posted online for the Destiny 2: Forsaken Legendary Collection, Destiny 2 will be released on the Nintendo Switch. The image, which appears to be some form of box art or promotional material, lists at the bottom a number of platforms on which the Forsaken Legendary Collection will be released on, and one of those platforms is the Nintendo Switch.

As expected, Xbox One and PC are listed as being the other platforms, although for some reason PS4 is not listed as a platform despite the Forsaken Legendary Collection already being released on Sony’s console.

While there would definitely be a lot of interest in seeing Destiny 2 release on the Nintendo Switch, the size and scope of a game such as Destiny 2 makes it seem unlikely that it’ll release on the Switch. Even if Bungie were able to get the game to run on the Nintendo Switch, and that’s a big if, it looks more than likely that this image is fake.

For starters, the Forsaken Legendary Collection released on September 4th, 2018, so if this image is from that release, it seems odd that the Switch would be listed as a platform, or at least be planned by Bungie, yet we still haven’t had any official announcement more than 9 months since its release. There’s a possibility it may be real, but it may also have been a genuine mistake. Still, this seems unlikely.

Destiny 2 coming to the Nintendo Switch would be massive news and would no doubt be welcomed by Destiny fans around the world. If this were to happen, then we would expect to see Bungie make some kind of announcement during their livestream tomorrow where they reveal the next chapter for Destiny 2. There’s always E3 as well, but we’re not getting our hopes up.
