The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Goes Free for a Limited Time

April seems to be the month of freebies with high-quality giveaways. After StarCraft and Saints Row 2, gamers are about to get another priceless classic masterpiece, The Witcher: Enhanced Edition, for zero price. The giveaway, as a part of GOG and Ars Technica partnership, allows everyone to get the game in the next 48 hours by acquiring the code and redeeming it on GOG. However, gamers have to create an account on Ars Technica, which also costs no money at all. The giveaway is slated to end at around 11:20am GMT 27th April 2017, though there will be some interruptions due to high demands of game keys.

The Witcher: Enhanced Edition is the expanded version for the first installment of CD Projekt RED’s epic fantasy trilogy. Based on the novel series written by Andrzej Sapkowski, the game follows the journey of Geralt of Rivia – a mercernary hunter wielding special powers – in the lands of war-torn Temeria. The Witcher was praised for its distinctive gameplay with the integration of different camera views and combat styles, as well as a storyline with multiple choices affecting the overall consequences. After the first release in 2007, CD Project RED decided to develop an Enhanced Edition with additional improvements that reduced the load times by about 80%, as well as adding new content, such as more missions.

The giveaway of The Witcher: Enhanced Edition can be accessed by following this link (Ars Technica account required).
