gamescom 2015 Brings In Record Breaking 345,000 Visitors

gamescom 2015 closed its doors this Sunday, 9th of August and throughout the event it brought in a record number of visitors. According to Koelnmesse’s (the event organizers) final report, about 345,000 visitors from 96 countries attended the world’s largest computer and video game event. This number also includes 33,200 trade visitors (a 5% improvement from last year), making gamescom the leading business platform for the European side of the industry.

The event brought in 806 exhibitors (up by 14% from last year’s 703) which presented hundreds of novelties to the trade visitors and gaming fans from all over the world. More than just the normal game premieres, developments in virtual reality and eSports were also the focus of gamescom 2015.

“The signs for a successful gamescom were very positive and the results have definitely exceeded our expectations. The growth in the number of visitors and exhibitors and the expanded exhibition surface combined with the measures to improve the quality of the event are important components for the permanent and sustainable success of gamescom. We are very satisfied with gamescom 2015, because we were once again able to offer the trade visitors an international industry meeting place and gaming fans from all over the world a unique event.” says Gerald Böse, President and Chief Executive Officer of Koelnmesse.
