Hello Games founder Sean Murray has revealed that he has been receiving death threats following the studio’s decision to delay No Man’s Sky.
The game was due to launch next month on June 21st for PlayStation 4 and PC gamers but will now release on August 9th in North America and August 10th in Europe following Hello Games’ decision to delay the sandbox space exploration title for over a month.
Unfortunately though, it seems that a small minority of people are unable to take the delay on the chin like most people would and have instead stooped low enough to threaten Murray’s life, over a video game. While it is unlikely there is any substance to these threats, it still comes as a bit of a shock.
Despite that however, Murray seemed to be in a jokey and upbeat mood on Twitter when he tweeted that he had received “loads” of death threats, making a reference to Home Alone by saying that the studio now looks like a scene out of the iconic film.
I have received loads of death threats this week, but don’t worry, Hello Games now looks like the house from Home Alone #pillowfort

Tell me when its safe to remove the marbles and oil from the stairs. It’s getting really cumbersome, and I need the toilet
