Xbox Live is Currently Down, Microsoft working to fix issues [UPDATE – IT’S FIXED]

[UPDATE] Microsoft have restored all services so Xbox Live is back up and running as intended. Happy Gaming!

[Original Story] Microsoft’s online gaming platform Xbox Live has once again gone down with the company confirming that it is currently working hard to restore the service as quickly as possible.

Currently, users are experiencing issues with the Social and Gaming services on Xbox Live meaning that most of the features used for gaming are unavailable with gamers unable to play online with their friends. There are also issues with in-game matchmaking making it hard for some users to connect to matches. In addition to that, the biggest issue seems to be when trying to join your friends in online games. It is still possible to sign-in to Xbox Live as well as access the Xbox Store, although that may be of little value if you can’t play online.

Microsoft have acknowledged the downtime however and are working on getting it back up and running as soon as possible.

“Issues with Matchmaking? We’re on it! Our team is engaged and hard at work trying to get everything back to normal. Thanks so much for your patience while we work. We’ll update you again when we know more,” said Microsoft.

This isn’t the first time that Xbox Live has experienced downtime in recent months with the service being knocked offline twice in February. It is not known yet what has caused this lasted outage however “hackers” have been targeting both Xbox Live and PSN recently by launching DDOS attacks on the network’s servers.

However there is no ETA for when the service will be restored with the Xbox Live Support Twitter account tweeting:
