New Content for Super Mario Maker 2 Available This Week Including Link

Nintendo released a new trailer on upcoming content for Super Mario Maker 2. The 2.0.0. update will be available on December 5th and includes a new gameplay mode, course parts, and a Master Sword item that allows you to play as Link from The Legend of Zelda series.

The new course parts include Dash Block (exclusive to the Super Mario 3D World mode), Frozen Coin, P Block, and the Spike and Pokey enemy.

The Master Sword item is perhaps the biggest addition exclusive to the 8-bit style. This not only transforms your sprite into Link but also gives him a Link moveset. Players will be able to use a sword, shoot arrows, throw bombs, and thrust down with the Master Sword, allowing for many new possibilities in level design.

Lastly, the new game mode is Ninji Speedruns, which allows players to take on Nintendo-made courses and compete against other players’ Ninji Ghosts that will run aside them on-screen. The Ninji Speedrun events will each last around one week.
