Shovel Knight Dig Announced, Treasure Trove Coming in December

Shovel Knight developer Yacht Club Games hosted its own Nintendo Direct style digital presentation today in which the studio announced their plans to release Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove this December both physically and digitally for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The presentation also concluded with the announcement of Shovel Knight Dig, a collaboration between Yacht Club Games and mobile developer Nitrome.

Treasure Trove will include the main Shovel Knight story mode (now titled ‘Shovel of Hope’) alongside DLC and standalone campaigns Plague of Shadows, Specter of Torment and King of Cards (which will launch alongside the bundle). It will also include the upcoming standalone fighting expansion Shovel Knight Showdown, which is also slated to launch alongside Treasure Trove.

Shovel Knight Dig, however, is an entirely new spin-off with a 16-bit aesthetic that follows Shovel Knight tracking down Drill Knight after having his treasure stolen by him and his crew. Not much is known about how the title will play, what platforms it will be released for or when it will be released, but Yacht Club have confirmed that it has been in development for over a year and has confirmed PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch versions.
