Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Release Date Leaks in Teaser Trailer

Activision released a teaser trailer for this year’s Call of Duty to get fans excited for the upcoming reveal of what almost certainly looks to be titled Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

Unfortunately for Activision, it appears that their teaser trailer did much more than just tease the upcoming announcement. In fact, it looks as if the teaser trailer actually gave away the game’s release date.

The release date appears to have been revealed in one of the video’s preview thumbnails, as spotted by Reddit. When the preview thumbnail is hovered over, it cycles through several images, one of which shows the game’s release date.

The image in the video shared on Reddit is blurry, but it definitely says October. As for the specific date, that’s more unclear, but it appears as though it may read as October 18th. The video also showed a character who many believe to be Captain John Price.

Activision has yet to officially confirm the title of this year’s Call of Duty, but the preview thumbnails also appear to confirm that it is indeed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare as many expected.

While these are all officially ‘unconfirmed’ until Activision reveals all, this release date is definitely within the usual window for a Call of Duty game, albeit a week or two earlier than is typical. Either way, we don’t have to wait very long at all before Activision announced this year’s title.
