Left 4 Dead Developer Announces New Co-Op Zombie Game

Turtle Rock Studios, famous for developing the co-op zombie game Left 4 Dead, has announced that they are working on a brand new game titled Back 4 Blood.

Back 4 Blood is a co-op zombie shooter similar to Left 4 Dead and is being created in partnership with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. The game will be released on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, as well as on the next-generation of consoles when they release.

Not much else is known about Back 4 Blood, although Turtle Rock Studios did reveal that there would be a campaign and that there will be some PvP gameplay added in too. Given that the game is a co-op zombie shooter though, it would be safe to expect some similarities between Back 4 Blood and Left 4 Dead, and that’s not a bad thing.

Given that the last Left 4 Dead game released nearly a decade ago, it’s clear that Back 4 Blood will have to match up to today’s standards and move the co-op genre forward. Thankfully, that seems to be the case as Warner Bros. added that the game will “advance the co-op zombie genre forward with innovative multiplayer gameplay”.

Turtle Rock Studio’s last game was the hugely disappointing Evolve, which failed to attract the interest the studio had been hoping for. Hopefully, by returning to their roots, the studio will be able to deliver the type of game fans of Left 4 Dead would want.
