Borderlands 3 to Be Announced at PAX East?

Next month Gearbox will be attending PAX East where they have been given their own panel, according to the official PAX East schedule that has been released. The attendance of Gearbox has got fans hoping for some kind of announcement, specifically one regarding a certain Borderlands 3.

While the description of the panel doesn’t reveal too much or hint at any one game taking the limelight, it does mention some type of reveal, along with other stuff such as news, exclusives and a behind-the-scenes look at the studio.

“This is your opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at Gearbox Software and Gearbox Publishing, along with the latest news and updates from the makers of Borderlands, Battleborn, Brothers in Arms, and more!  We will have never-before-seen reveals, exclusives, and surprises, so don’t miss out!”

This has got fans of the Borderlands franchise excited at the prospect that Borderlands 3 may be announced at PAX East. While there is nothing so far that confirms any kind of Borderlands 3 announcement at the convention, the game has long been rumoured to be in development, and if it is, this could be a great place to reveal it. Given Gearbox’s disappointment with Battleborn, it also wouldn’t be surprising to see them return to the Borderlands franchise.

While there’s every chance this panel is nothing more than Gearbox discussing Gearbox stuff, the fact it has been given a prime slot in the main theater suggests that there might be something more substantial Gearbox are preparing to announce.
