Red Dead Redemption II: Story Trailer Revealed

Rockstar Games have revealed the 2nd trailer for the upcoming Red Dead Redemption II. This time the trailer focuses on the story and gives us our first look at protagonist Arthur Morgan.

The blurb that accompanies the trailer confirms suspicions that Red Dead II will play as a prequel to the first one – ‘The story of outlaw Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang as they rob, fight and steal their way across the vast and rugged heart of America in order to survive.’

Those of you that finished the first game will know that the Van der Linde gang were taken down by then protagonist John Marston, who was a former member of the gang. This leaves a lot of us Red Dead fans hopeful that we’ll meet the much beloved character again in some form in Red Dead Redemption II.

The trailer doesn’t provide any real details about the story, other than what’s mentioned above; there are still a lot of exciting questions that will be answered as we move closer to the 2018 release window. Questions like – “will there be more than one protagonist like in GTAV?” will remain unanswered for the time being.

One thing that is confirmed through the trailer is the undeniable fact that the game is graphically stunning in its current form. Textures and animations appear to be spot on and look to provide the same gritty feel carried forward from the previous game. Although, bear in mind that most of what the trailer contains is clearly footage from cutscenes, but if Rockstar’s last release (GTA: V) is anything to go by, the graphics in the cutscenes and gameplay will be more or less one and the same.

Red Dead Redemption II is set to release in Spring 2018 for Xbox One and PS4 and is available to pre-order now. Make sure to check out the trailer below!
