Dragon Ball FighterZ Gets New Trailer & Closed Beta Sign Up Now Open

Bandai Namco has unveiled a number of announcements at Gamescom 2017 while fans are waiting for the new Dragon Ball Z game, Dragon Ball FighterZ. A new trailer was shown that revealed the story and online modes and new characters, such as Piccolo, Krillin, Android 17, Android 18 and much more. The story involves evil clone versions of the heroes.

In addition, eager fans who were waiting since last month’s announcement will soon get opportunity to try the game as registration for the game’s closed beta is now open for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players. Xbox players will register through the Xbox Insider program, while PS4 players can sign up by visiting Bandai Namco’s website and following the steps listed there. The closed beta runs the weekend of September 16th-17th.

Lastly, Arc System Work’s publisher announced what players will be receiving for the special Collector’s Edition, plus the pre-order bonuses were also revealed. For those pre-ordering a physical copy, one gets 2 early unlocked characters plus 2 exclusive lobby avatars.

In addition to a copy of the game, the Dragon Ball FighterZ Collector’s Edition package includes a 7-inch statue of series hero Goku with “exclusive ‘manga-dimension’ coloring,” a steelbook case, and three art boards, all of which are housed in a special CollectorZ box. This collector’s edition retails for $140, which is a decent price.
