Metal Gear Online now available, PC version due next year

The multiplayer component for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Metal Gear Online, is now available via an update released for the game, Konami has announced.

Metal Gear Online is now available for those on PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360, however PC gamers will have to wait until January 2016 to be able to experience Metal Gear Online. It has not been made clear why PC gamers have to wait longer than those on console, although this is Konami so your guess is as good as mine.

To be able to play Metal Gear Online on your console, you just need to simply download the latest update for The Phantom Pain. After that, Metal Gear Online will appear as an option from game’s main menu.

So what exactly is Metal Gear Online? MGO pits players against one another in team-based battles, allowing you to use the weapons and tactics such as stealth from the offline game into competitive matches. It also comes with a class system with each class having different strengths and abilities.
