Grand Theft Auto V Has Sold Six Million Copies in the UK Since 2013

Grand Theft Auto V has sold more than six million copies in the UK, data from Chart-Track has revealed.

That figure only takes into account physical sales of the game, though, so the overall figure will be a lot higher when digital downloads are taken into account, especially with most PC sales being made digitally.

GTA V launched back in September 2013 on PS3 and Xbox 360 and was a huge hit, making it the most successful game in the franchise to date. A year later, Rockstar released the game on PS4 and Xbox One before eventually releasing Grand Theft Auto V on PC last year.

In total, Grand Theft Auto V has been available to purchase for 170 weeks. Out of that number, the game has remained in the video game charts’ top 10 for a staggering 130 weeks. As a result, it’s become one of the most successful games in recent memory and still continues to sell well.

The last update we had on UK sales of GTA V were last year when it was revealed that Rockstar’s open-world game had shifted more than 5 million units.

As of May 2016, GTA V had sold 65 million units worldwide across all platforms.
