Total War: Warhammer Breaks Franchise Sale Record for Fastest Selling Game

Total War: Warhammer has sold over 500,000 units on Steam since the game released on Tuesday and in the process has broken a franchise record for the “fastest-selling Total War title on Steam” ever, SEGA has announced.

The game has been sitting comfortably at the top of Steam’s Top Sellers chart for some time and has been seeing nearly 100,000 gamers playing Warhammer at any one time consistently since the game’s launch. It’s currently the third most played game on Steam and is the most played non-Valve game which is an incredible achievement for the series.

Total War: Warhammer has already proven itself as a runaway commercial success and more importantly we know our players are really enjoying the game,” said Studio Director, Tim Heaton. “We have been regularly topping 100k concurrent players.”

Heaton added, “The team paid particular attention to stability and performance throughout the game’s development and thoroughly enjoyed creating new ways to play Total War within Games Workshop’s stunning Warhammer Fantasy world. We’re very proud of it, and it’s wonderful to see the game receiving such a great reception from critics, Total War veterans and new players alike.”

If you’ve yet to pick up Total War: Warhammer, you have until May 31st to do so to receive the Chaos Warriors Race Pack for free which will include new Legendary Lords, additional units, and mounts to name a few.
