Halo 5 to get Infection game mode later this year

A new game mode will be making its way to Halo 5 in the form of Infection, a fan-favourite game mode from Halo 3 and Halo: Reach, developer 343 Industries has announced.

In Halo 3 and Halo: Reach, Infection was a game mode which challenged players to stay uninfected for as long as possible as they fight off zombies who are trying to infect them. Once you had been killed, you would return to the fight as an infected zombie attemping to kill the remaining living players. If you killed a living player as a zombie, they would then also become a zombie until everyone had been infected.

If you never played Halo 3 or Halo: Reach, imagine Infection being similar to Call of Duty’s multiplayer made Infected from Modern Warfare 3.

Infection is due to be added to the game alongside the Memories of Reach update which is scheduled for release later in 2016.
