Brazen Stag 2.1 Surround Sound Gaming Chair Review

Fancy gaming chairs are an important part of a PC gaming set up. You have to have a fancy chair if you’re planning on spending hours sitting in one spot gaming for hours on end. But, what about if you’re not a PC gamer? Isn’t it still important to have a decent chair to game in? Well, Brazen seems to think so. Their answer is the Brazen Stag Gaming Chair, a seating option designed specifically for console gaming.

The Brazen Stag offers the same sleek design that you’ll be familiar with from their other products. Probably the most interesting feature is the Bluetooth-enabled speaker that sits in the back of the chair. It features 2.1 surround sound to make the gaming experience even more extreme and immersive. Plus, you can crank it up to full volume to annoy your neighbors or roommates, if you’re into that.

Like all of Brazen’s chairs, the Brazen Stag arrives in parts and has to be assembled. Getting it together is pretty simple though. The main chair is one piece, then it’s simply a case of attaching arms and base plate, then slotting the whole thing onto the stand. As long as you can read instructions correctly and know what the word ‘front’ means, then you should have no trouble. Overall, it only took us about 15 minutes at most to put the thing together.

The chair is comfortable to sit in at a TV screen, but is too low to use with a normal height desk.

Things to Take Note About the Brazen Stag Gaming Chair

There are a few things that you should probably be aware of before buying the Brazen Stag. It’s not a PC chair, for a start. If you’re buying it to use with your PC, then you need to make sure that your desk is super low. The chair doesn’t come with adjustable height since it’s intended to be used with consoles that are plugged into a tv. Honestly, that doesn’t mean that you can’t use it with a PC, it’s just something to bear in mind.

The Brazen Stag is a pretty comfortable chair, at least for the most part. The material is breathable and very soft, so sitting in it feels good. The freedom to lean back is pretty great as well, although the headrest doesn’t actually go anywhere near your head. All in all, the chair is super compact, you can even fold it up to be even smaller, which is great when you’re working with limited space.

There’s only one factor that might make the Brazen Stag a little less comfortable, and that’s the arms. They’re very narrow, so if you’re carrying a little extra baggage, they can really get in the way. Having said that, it’s not like you need to keep them. Unlike on other chairs, they don’t keep the chair together in any way. They’re just there to rest your arms on, which honestly isn’t much of a concern, at least in my opinion. I’ve taken the armrests off of my chair, and honestly, I probably won’t be reattaching them any time soon.

It’s pretty easy to plug the speaker in, and the settings allow for a bass-y experience, if that’s what you’re into.

The Brazen Stag’s Amazing Speaker

Finally, we come to my favorite part, the speaker. The speaker in the Brazen Stag is pretty damn good, if I do say so myself. The chair can connect either through BlueTooth or via a cable that comes with the device, depending on what you want. It works well with most of the consoles I’ve tried it with, and I’ve also connected it to my phone and computer too. Honestly, as long as your device works with a BlueTooth speaker, then it’ll work with the gaming chair.

The sound quality and power are excellent too. There are independent ‘Volume’ and ‘Bass’ knobs, so you can really crank it up and feel the vibrations from your game’s sounds. Or you can play EDM and vibrate your entire house if you want. On the flip side, you can keep the bass super low if you’re playing late at night and don’t want any sounds to escape the room you’re in, even with thin walls. All in all, it’s a pretty good speaker, and when the chair is folded up, the speaker points upwards, so you can still use it even while the chair itself isn’t usable.

The chair can even be folded down into a smaller form factor so you can just use it as a speaker.

My Last Word on the Brazen Stag

Overall, I would highly recommend the Brazen Stag Gaming Chair for someone who is making a gaming room for console gaming. While it can work for PC users, it’s clearly not designed for it. The size factor is a bit confusing since it’s an adult-oriented chair but seems more sized for kids or teenagers. Having said that, with the arms taken off, it’s comfortable to sit in for extended periods of time, and the armrests are low enough that even with them in-place, you probably won’t suffer too much. Just be careful not to crank up that bass too loud at 8 AM. Your neighbors won’t like it.
