A Classic Character Returns in Vampire: The Masquerade- Bloodlines 2, Along with a Collector’s Edition

This article, much further down, contains details that some may consider to be spoilers for Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 and Vein Pursuit.

Vein Pursuit is the chronicle, or campaign, using 5th Edition Vampire: The Masquerade. It stars Paradox Interactive and Hardsuit Labs team members and World of Darkness Community Developer Outstar Walker. The chronicle spans over eight episodes, averaging to around 2 hours per episode.

There is still no definite release date for the game, but developers still plan for late 2020.

Paradox Interactive Insider Show

Guerilla Collective hosted a Paradox insider show on their June 2020 livestream. In this show, Paradox provided insights, gameplay, and teasers for upcoming games and expansions for existing games. Featured games include Crusader Kings III, Empire of Sin, Prison Architect, and Surviving the Aftermath; there was also a 4th year anniversary segment for Hearts of Iron IV.

Vampire: The Masquerade- Bloodlines 2 was the last segment of the show. An extended version of the ‘Inside Xbox’ next-gen trailer was shown with a short clip introducing a character from the original Bloodlines. Prior to that, there was a video showcasing the Collector’s Edition.

The Collector’s Edition

For fans of the franchise, especially those who were eagerly awaiting the sequel, there is now a Collector’s Edition of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2.

Included in this edition are:

  • Blood Moon edition of the game – with pre-order bonuses and a season pass for the first three DLCs.
  • Steelbook – featuring a design of Mr. Damp.
  • PDF copy of Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition Core Rulebook.
  • 7 Inch Vinyl Soundtrack
  • Seattle Map Poster
  • 28cm Resin statue of Elif, a Tremere who is a major figure in the Newcomers faction.

Anyone who has already pre-ordered the game through any means can purchase a standalone version of the Collector’s Edition, which does not include a copy of the game.

Pre-orders for the Collector’s Edition are available through the Paradox Plaza for 170 Euros (110 without the game). Shipping fees still apply. The pre-order page can be found HERE.

Spoiler Warning: Returning Characters

Fans of the original Bloodlines will recognise that the new teaser clip re-introduces Damsel. She was a prominent character in the game and part of the Anarch sect operating in Los Angeles. Damsel had a fiery attitude, especially towards the player character. She has a distinct disdain for the Camarilla, not unlike most others of the Brujah clan. She was also an open advocate for adopting a form of communism among Kindred, or vampire, society.

The same character makes a cameo appearance in Vein Pursuit, reinforcing the connection between the events of the upcoming game and the TTRPG chronicle. Whilst her appearance in Vein Pursuit is short, her role in the Bloodlines 2 story is going to be important.

There is no implication of any further Vein Pursuit or original Bloodlines cameos; however, without a definite release date, there is still room for speculation.
