Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age Definitive Edition Demo Available Now

Dragon Quest XI

While we’re still just over a month out from the official release of Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age Definitive Edition, Nintendo Switch JRPG fans can set out on their journey early thanks to the release of a demo on the Nintendo eShop, courtesy of Square-Enix and Nintendo.

The demo, coming in at a 4.7GB download, takes players through the opening hours of this enhanced Nintendo Switch port of the excellent PlayStation 4 JRPG which we awarded a prestigious perfect score upon its release last year. The demo offers hours of gameplay spread over multiple towns and progress can be carried over to the full game when it releases next month. This enhanced Nintendo Switch port offers a variety of new content both carried over from the previous PlayStation 4 and Japanese-exclusive Nintendo 3DS releases, along with some brand new enhancements. These include the 3DS version’s beloved 2D mode, allowing the entire game to be played in a 16-bit art style with exclusive areas such as towns from previous Dragon Quest titles, a brand new fully orchestrated soundtrack replacing the much-criticized MIDI arrangements found in the PlayStation 4 version, alongside a brand new Japanese voice track and hours of brand new story content.

Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age Definitive Edition releases for Nintendo Switch on September 27th, 2019. You can get your hands on a copy of the game thanks to our friends at CDkeys over here
