Sony to extend PlayStation Plus Subscriptions following downtime

Following yesterday’s PSN outage, Sony have announced on Twitter that they will be extending everyones subscription time for PlayStation Plus to compensate for the downtime users experienced.

In addition to PlayStation Plus time being extended, Sony will also extend video rentals and PlayStation Now to make up for the loss of time.

No figures for how long the extensions will be have been revealed, however Sony have said to “Stay Tuned” for more details which they will announce shortly.

PSN was down for most of yesterday for millions of gamers who were unable to access the network or play games online on their PS3, PSVita and PS4. The service was finally restored earlier this morning at 5am GMT, however there was no reason given for why the service went down or why it took so long for it to be restored.
