New Fallout Game Rumoured After Placeholder Appears on Amazon

A placeholder listing for a new Fallout game has been spotted on Amazon, which has sparked rumours that Bethesda may be about to release a new game in the franchise later this year.

The listing, which has since been removed by Amazon, was first spotted by Wario64 and included three different editions – standard, deluxe and a collector’s edition. As expected, the placeholder listed Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC as the platforms this game would be released on. While the listing was live, it was possible to pre-order any of these editions for this unannounced game.

While no title or description was provided in the listings, it did contain a countdown similar to those seen in numerous Fallout games in the past with a release date of December 31st, 2019, although this date is almost certainly just a placeholder. The countdown has, however, got people thinking that this game could possibly be Fallout 5 or a remastered version of Fallout 3.

Wario64 does have a track record of predicting unannounced games. He correctly predicted the release of Far Cry: New Dawn before it was revealed, but it’s unclear if he knows anything more than what these listings show.

Back in 2017, Todd Howard revealed that Bethesda was currently working on 7 games. These included Fallout 4 VR and the Nintendo Switch port of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, along with two larger unannounced projects. It’s safe to assume that one of those titles was Fallout 76, so that leaves one more large, unannounced project. Could this be it?
