It’s the start of a new month, which means a whole new lineup for Xbox’s Games with Gold, the free group of games available each month for Xbox Live Gold subscribers. The games may not be as high profile as Sony’s PS Plus free game equivalent; however, there are still a host of great games to download and play for Xbox fans.
The headliner for August/September for Games with Gold is Ubisoft’s extremely popular For Honor, available on Xbox One. When For Honor released back in February 2017, it was a little light on content; however, as is becoming the norm for Ubisoft games, the medieval brawler has received continuous support and updates and is even expecting another free major update with a castle siege and a new faction this fall.
Prison Architect is a game that may have gone under your radar when it launched in 2015. Now is a perfect time for those Xbox One owners with Games with Gold to check out the prison construction and management simulator. Decide how you design your prison and also manage it to how you see fit – make it a peaceful place of rehabilitation or perhaps promote murder and riots among your prisoners and guards.
Games with Gold for September will also provide Xbox One owners with Livelock, a cooperative top-down shooter. If you have an Xbox 360, your free games this month are Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars (also available on Xbox One) and Sega Vintage Collection: Monster World.
