PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Mobile Surpasses 100 Million Downloads

Since releasing four months ago, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Mobile has been downloaded more than 100 million times, PUGB Corp and Tencent have announced.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has been one of the most popular battle royale games on the market since it launched on PC in March 2017. Its popularity grew so much that a mobile version was created and released on iOS and Android devices earlier this year, resulting in the game becoming the most downloaded mobile game in its first month.

Not only has PUBG been downloaded more than 100 million times, but it also has a massive active user base, with the game recently hitting 14 million daily active users. It’s a sign of the continued popularity of mobile gaming, but it also shows how far mobile gaming has come that a game such as PUBG, which started its roots on PC, has been able to dominate the mobile market in such a short space of time.

“We want to thank our committed development team at Lightspeed and Quantum Studios and especially thank the devoted players around the world that continue to inspire us with their passion and dedication,” said PUBG Mobile’s global publishing team General Manager, Vincent Wang.

“We will continue to set the bar for mobile gaming and look to deliver even more great content to our players later this year.”
