DOOM Eternal Gameplay, Platforms, and Release Window Revealed

At QuakeCon, Bethesda gave us with a first look and details on DOOM Eternal, the upcoming sequel to 2016’s hit game DOOM. Among new gameplay additions, Bethesda announced that the game will launch on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. The Nintendo Switch port is being done by the guys at Panic Button, the development studio that brought DOOM and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus to Nintendo Switch.

Among some of the new gameplay additions shown off was a new invasion-like mode. In this mode, players will be able to take control of demons and enter into other players’ campaigns, a lot like Dark Souls or Left 4 Dead. According to Bethesda, this should make for more intense and more stressful encounters for players during their campaign run. A new dash skill was shown off to help people navigate through the underworld, as well as a new grappling hook mechanic that allows you to hook enemies and pull yourself towards or away from them. New weapons were also shown off, like a massive flamethrower, a super shotgun meathook attachment for your gun, and a new deadly blade.

Take a look below for the new gameplay trailer that was shown off at QuakeCon for DOOM Eternal. Bethesda says it will share more information about Doom Eternal in the near future. Otherwise DOOM Eternal launches on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC in 2019.
