Rathalos from Monster Hunter: World Arrives in Final Fantasy XIV

Monster Hunter: World’s Rathalos has arrived in Final Fantasy XIV as part of the collaboration between both Capcom and Square Enix’s RPG franchises.

Rathalos arrived in Final Fantasy XIV’s huge 4.36 patch. The Flying Wyvern from Monster Hunter is the target of the quest entitled ‘‘The New King on the Block’’. Players who wish to participate will have to be at least level 70 and must have completed the main scenario quest ‘‘Stormblood’’. If these requirements are met, the quest can be accepted by speaking to the hearty hunter in Kugane.

The quest sees eight players facing off against Monster Hunter: World’s ‘’King of the Skies’’. Once Rathalos is defeated and the task is complete, there’s an opportunity for players to fight an even harder version of the monster. An additional quest is then available, ‘’The Newer King on the Block’’.

Players can gain Monster Hunter-inspired items by carving the scales from the monster’s remains and take these to the Smithy in Kugane. These scales can be exchanged for a Rathalos armor set and mount. Players will also be able to get their hands on Palico and Poogie minions, Monster Hunter Orchestrion rolls and BBQ Spit furnishings.

The 4.36 patch also adds a new area to discover in the Forbidden Land of Eurka, known as Pagos. However, players must have completed the Anemos story to be able to access it.

The Behemoth from Final Fantasy was finally introduced to Monster Hunter: World last week, read about it here.

Final Fantasy XIV is an MMORPG developed and published by Square Enix. It’s currently available for Windows, OSX and PlayStation 4.
