Earlier this week, some eagle-eyed gamers over on NeoGAF spotted that Destiny’s 1 premium currency was available to purchase on Steam, despite Destiny not being released on PC.
There were several theories thrown around as to why the currency appeared on Steam; however, Bungie have clarified that it was them, rather than a third-party, that put Destiny Silver on Steam, but it was made available in error.
Speaking on Twitter, Bungie’s Community Manager David ‘DeeJ’ Dague tweeted that Bungie had made the currency available on Steam in error and clarified that Destiny 2 is coming to PC but only through Blizzard’s Battle.net and not through Steam.
Destiny transactions on Steam were made available in error. All purchases will be refunded manually by Valve. Sorry for the confusion!

It still doesn’t answer the question though as to why Bungie were even on Steam in the first place if they have no intentions of releasing Destiny 1 or Destiny 2 on Steam. So far, that question remained unanswered, but it doesn’t look like a Steam release is on the cards at this moment in time for Destiny 2.
We’re with Blizzard. No plans to release Destiny 2 on PC anywhere else. Pass it on.
