As promised in the previous teasers, Ubisoft has just posted the very first in-game trailer for upcoming open-world first person shooter Far Cry 5.
The trailer showcased an overview of what we can expect and experience in the game: A vast environment of Montana with open fields and signature mountainous areas, and a story of religious cult fanatics with the scheme of taking over the towns of Hope County. Here’s an excerpt of the storyline from the press release:
As the new junior deputy of fictional Hope County, Montana, players will find that their arrival accelerates a years-long silent coup by a fanatical doomsday cult, the Project at Eden’s Gate, igniting a violent takeover of the county. Caught off guard and drawn into a power struggle, players must disrupt the carefully laid plans of the Project at Eden’s Gate, and fan the fires of resistance to help liberate the Hope County community and themselves.
Far Cry 5 will feature huge variations of vehicles on land, air, and water. Players can drive some of the iconic American wheels such as muscle cars, big rigs, and ATVs or join in epic aerial dogfights with planes and helicopters. The game also includes different weapons to utilize a wide range of playstyles: from ranged weapons such as guns and grenades, to melee weapons like sledgehammers or baseball bats. Moreover, players will be able to get friendly characters and even wild animals to fight against the army of cult fanatics. Co-op will make a return to the Far Cry series with two players able to go through the main campaign together.
Far Cry 5 is slated to be released on 27th February 2018 on both current-gen and next-gen platforms like PC, PS4, PS4 Pro, Xbox One, and Xbox Scorpio. Gameplay reveal is expected for an appearance in the upcoming Ubisoft E3 2017 Press Conference. And now for some fresh screenshots:
