Russian Man Murders Friend After Arguing Whether Nvidia or AMD Graphic Cards Are Best

A Russian man has been sentenced to nine and a half years in prison after murdering his friend following an argument about which graphics cards were better, Nvidia or AMD.

The horrific crime took place in Saransk, Russia on September 16th, 2016, when the two men began drinking together and got into a discussion about whether Nvidia or AMD were better. But after becoming extremely intoxicated, what should have been an innocent argument unfortunately led to one man losing his life.

Aleksander Trofimov, 37, stabbed Evgeny Lylin to death with a knife after the pair had an argument which got out of control. Trofimov felt so strongly that Nvidia was the best graphics card manufacturer that he couldn’t handle Lylin’s opinion that AMD was better and proceeded to hit him in the head twice with a knife after the argument escalated. He then proceeded to stab his dead body 11 times.

After killing Lylin, Trofimov tried to discard the body by loading it into the trunk of his car before driving outside Saransk and burying it. He then returned a day later to burn the body by dousing it in gasoline and setting it alight.

However, after becoming a suspect in the case, Trofimov was arrested by police and admitted to killing Lylin following the argument.

The incident actually took place over a year ago, but it’s only now that Aleksander Trofimov has been sentenced for his gruesome crime.
