Ghost Recon: Wildlands Beta Pre-load Available Shortly, Will Be a Hefty 25 GB Install

If you were one of the lucky players who got accepted into Ubisoft’s closed beta for Ghost Recon: Wildlands, there’s more good news as you will be able to pre-load the game ahead of Ubisoft opening Wildland’s doors to testers this weekend.

The closed beta will begin this weekend on Friday February 3 and will run until Monday February 6 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Registration for the Wildlands closed beta opened a few months ago following Ubisoft’s official announcement, with thousands of gamers registering their interest. However as this isn’t an open beta, not everyone who registered has been accepted but for those who were lucky enough to receive an email confirming their spot in the closed beta test, you’ll be able to download the beta as of 7am GMT on February 1.

Those on the east coast of the USA will be able to download the beta from 2am EST with those on the west coast getting access to download the beta from 11PM PST on January 31.

In the announcement made by Ubisoft earlier today, they also revealed that the closed beta will take up roughly 25 GB of space on your hard-drive so if you’re short on space, we suggest you start making some. Although if you’re in China, Japan or North Korea, you’ll unfortunately be missing out this time round as the closed beta  won’t be able available in those three regions.

“During this Closed Beta, you will be able to discover the very first hours of Ghost Recon Wildlands in the province of Itacua, one of the 21 regions of our massive open world,” Ubisoft said. “You will be able to fully explore this area and complete main story missions, but you will also be able to engage in side activities. The full gameplay loop is available for you to discover as well as the character customization and the gunsmith feature.”

If you weren’t successful in being chosen to take part this time round, there’s still hope as every player who got accepted can invite up to three additional friends to join them in the closed beta this weekend, although only friends on the same platform can be invited.

Ghost Recon: Wildlands releases worldwide on March 7 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
