The Last of Us 2 Announced by Naughty Dog

It was rumoured to be announced at PlayStation Experience 2016, and now we finally have it; Naughty Dog have announced The Last of Us Part 2.

Yep, you read that right. The Last of Us Part 2 has been revealed and will be heading to PlayStation 4 in the future. The game is currently early in development, so we won’t be seeing it anytime soon, although more information is likely to be revealed at E3 2017. Maybe a 2018 release, perhaps?

Check out the reveal trailer here:

The Last of Us was first released in 2013 for PS3 before being remastered for PS4 and followed the lives of Ellie and Joel, two characters who were thrown together at the start of an outbreak. After a turbulent journey, Joel had a decision to make. Save Ellie or allow her to be used to help create a vaccine. In a dramatic ending, Joel opted to save Ellie. The Last of Us Part 2 will carry on the story and will once again focus on Ellie and Joel’s story.

This time Ellie is older, and it looks like she wants revenge. The reveal trailer doesn’t give much away, but it ends with Ellie revealing that she wants to “kill every one last one of them.” Could it be the Fireflies she is talking about or perhaps a new faction Ellie and Joel will encounter in The Last of Us Part 2?
