Launch of PS4 Pro Helps Boost PS4 Console Sales By 204%

Last week’s launch of PS4 Pro has helped boost sales of PS4 consoles by an impressive 204%, and as a result Sony’s console has unsurprisingly outsold Microsoft’s Xbox One console over the last week.

In recent weeks Microsoft’s Xbox One console has been outselling the PS4, but Sony has convincingly outsold its rival this time around. That’s despite Xbox One sales seeing an increase of 85% week-on-week, thanks in part to Microsoft offering older models at a discounted price.

As a result of the PS4 Pro launch, more PS4 consoles were also sold in the last week than Xbox One consoles. Overall, sales of PS4 units, including the Pro, were 44% higher than Xbox Ones, with PS4 consoles taking a 53% share of the market compared to just 37% for Xbox One.

However, 65% of all PS4 units that were sold were PS4 Pro consoles. Sony’s strong sales were also helped by the PS4 Slim model with sales being up 8.5% week-on-week.
