UPDATE: The servers are back online.
If you were planning on sitting down tonight and playing the Battlefield 1 beta, or any of EA’s other games for that matter, you’re going to be left disappointed as the EA servers have been taken offline following a DDOS attack.
Battlefield 1 is down for everyone on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and it looks like all of EA’s games have been impacted with online functionality currently down still. Of course, the Battlefield 1 beta is the most noticeable game that people can’t play right now, although servers for FIFA 16 are also offline.
EA have acknowledged that they are aware of the issues and are working as quickly as possible to restore service, although they don’t have any ETA on when servers will be back up now.
EA is currently experiencing an outage. EA games, services & support may be impacted. We’re working to resolve as fast as possible.

@david_dopke I wish I could tell you but don’t have an ETA but know they are working as fast as possible to get things back up. -Francis

The culprits of the attack look to be Poodlecorp, an infamous group of “hackers” who have launched many attacks on various games over the past weeks and months. The group tweeted not long ago that the EA servers were toasted before going on to claim responsibility for knocking them offline.
EA servers were toasted real good tonight. #poodlecorp @Gh0stPoodle had a blast

While you wait for the servers to come back online, why don’t you check out our thoughts on the Battlefield 1 beta here?

They’re experiencing an outage? Probably because so many are experiencing outrage because of them wanting $70+ for standard BF1.
