If you’re a Halo fan, there’s a good chance that you’re going to be a little bit more excited for E3 this year as 343 Industries has confirmed that Halo Infinite will be making an appearance at this year’s show.
Last year, Microsoft began their E3 2018 conference by revealing a cinematic trailer for Halo Infinite. However, following the game’s announcement, Microsoft and developer 343 Industries have remained rather tight-lipped about the upcoming game. That’s about to change at E3 2019, however.
Speaking to IGN, 343 Industries Bonnie Ross confirmed that Halo Infinite would be at E3 2019 and that game director Chris Lee would be taking to the stage to share more details on the next installment in the Halo franchise. While Ross didn’t say much about what we could actually expect to see from the show, it’s likely that we’ll be introduced more to the story and setting of the game, as well as any new features and, hopefully, there will also be some gameplay footage for us to digest.
There’s currently no release date for Halo Infinite, but there are rumours that the game could launch on the next Xbox console, which could potentially release in the next year or two. Most analysts seem to think we’ll see a new Xbox in 2020 and not this year as some had been hoping.
It seems unlikely that Microsoft will give a release date at E3 2019, especially if the rumours are true about the game releasing on their next console. Unless, of course, Microsoft does reveal their next Xbox console, in which case Halo Infinite may very well be a launch title for it.
