Blizzard announced today that season 2 of their CROWDS project is now underway.

An in-depth explanation of what CROWDS is can be found here, but to sum it up: CROWDS is a system that allows fans of Blizzard to respond to support requests/questions made to Blizzard’s support team themselves using an app that connects to Blizzard’s Twitter feed. It was created mainly to help ease the burden on Blizzard’s support team, especially since the team couldn’t respond to support requests made late at night or early in the morning due to having a set of “opening times.” Blizzard has reported that they are overall pleased with the results the initiative has produced thus far, hence why they’re opening another ‘season’ for the program.
The system has actually been running non-stop since it began around two years ago, but this will be the second season of its existence (like the competitive seasons in Overwatch). During the season, ten people who do particularly well in the CROWDS system will earn a place in a Wall of Fame. Likewise, top performers will be rewarded with in-game items, like loot boxes from Overwatch and Heroes of the Storm, and card packs from Hearthstone. So if you’re like me and joked that you’d genuinely work for loot boxes, now’s your chance to do it. It is currently unclear how long the season will last, though more details will likely be posted on the app at a later date.
