Homefront: The Revolution’s opening cinematic trailer ‘America Has Fallen’ released

Deep Silver has released the opening cinematic trailer for Homefront: The Revolution, America has Fallen, giving players a brief insight into the backstory of the game and how North Korea invaded the USA.

Homefront: The Revolution puts players in the shoes of a resistance fighter as you fight to take back control of the USA following the North Korean invasion in 2025. The cinematic trailer explains how North Korea was able to rebuild and thrive through its techonological advances following the Korean war, whereas America became dependent upon North Korean technology sold by the APEX Corporation.

As the America economy crippled, the debt owed to North Korea continued to mount. However Independence Day in 2025 saw the North Koreans shut down the USA’s military capability through a backdoor they created in the technology they sold to America and therefore signaled the beginning of the invasion.

“Homefront: The Revolution is a complete reboot of the franchise, and features a brand new backstory based on an alternate history in which Korea won the technological arms race thanks to the rise of the sinister APEX corporation,” said Deep Silver.

Homefront: The Revolution releases on PS4, Xbox One and PC on May 20th.
