It might have had a bit of a mixed reaction, much like EA’s entire catalogue of new-canon Star Wars games since the Disney Purchase, but if you fancied trying out Star Wars: Squadrons but haven’t yet, good news! It is available on Xbox Game Pass from today! So, it won’t cost you a penny if you are a subscriber. Well, it will cost you something because you have to pay for Game Pass, but you know what I mean. Hopefully.
In Squadrons, you’ll get to experience the Galactic Civil War from both sides, playing as pilots from both the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire. Our own Jes Taylor did a review on Star Wars: Squadrons back in October 2020 when the game was released and had the following to say:
All in all, Star Wars: Squadrons is a good game with a strong single-player campaign. While the controls are hard to wrap your mind around at first, once you learn them, the game is quite fun. If you’re looking for a good 12 to 14-hour single-player Star Wars game, then Squadrons could be a good pick up
With Squadrons making its way to Game Pass, it joins an already stocked selection of games, including the fantastic Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and the (now) utterly brilliant Star Wars: Battlefront II.
