American Truck Simulator – Wyoming DLC Review

Wyoming DLC

Another season passes, and another state DLC releases for American Truck Simulator. This time the Wyoming DLC adds America’s Equality State to the game for the first time, bringing a whole new wave of cities to visit and sights to see. The real mark of quality will be how well SCS has managed to capture the state. From natural landscapes to key industries, it’s these aspects that make or break an American Truck Simulator DLC pack. So, how does the Wyoming DLC hold up? Let me, an Englishman who has never been to the state before, tell you.

A Beautiful View

As with our coverage of the Utah DLC, you should probably bear in mind that we’re a UK-based site. Consequently, most of us have no idea what Wyoming actually looks like in real life. Having said that, if it’s anything like the area presented in this DLC, it might be worth a visit. There’s no shortage of wide-open, arid landscapes, but there are also plenty of rolling planes too. There are some beautiful lake-side scenes, as well as stunning natural monuments to drive by as you deliver exports from the local area.

The accuracy of local industries is an important part of why the Wyoming DLC feels like another natural addition to the game. The primary industries of the state play a big role in the jobs you’ll get in the DLC. On top of that, SCS has even added events and special prizes that are related to the area as well. You can even get a cabin accessory based on the discovery of 3 triceratops fossils in the local area. This is an insanely detailed inclusion, especially for a company that’s not even in the same country as the state it’s based on.

American Truck Simulator – Wyoming Is All in the Details

It’s clear that a lot of effort has gone into making Wyoming in the game feel real, or at the very least it seems that way to someone like me who is probably never going to set foot in that state in my entire life. Even if a native of Wyoming notices some minor errors, it hardly matters. The Wyoming DLC does exactly what it sets out to do. You get 10 new cities to make deliveries to, a whole bunch of landmarks to see, and some pretty historic highways to travel across. It’s basically an extra chunk of the map for you to enjoy, and that’s all it really needs to be.

All-in-all, American Truck Simulator – Wyoming brings some great things to the game, from the rolling planes of the state to a lot of great little details. It seems clear just how much effort that SCS puts into these updates. Whether you’re just looking for more roads to expand your game world, or you’re obsessed with that state’s famous landmarks and rest stops, you’ll get exactly what you’re looking for here. Just make sure you don’t spend too long enjoying the scenery and crash into a ditch.
