Ubisoft has revealed that they have sold twice as many games on Sony’s PlayStation 4 as on Xbox One.
During the companies earnings call, they state that 27% of the company’s revenue comes from the sale of PlayStation 4 games. The second highest-selling platform was PC, which accounted for 23% of their revenue. Last year the PC market only accounted for 14% of Ubisoft’s sales.
Spread between them, the Xbox One along with last-gen consoles, Xbox 360 and PS3, only make up around 11% of Ubisoft’s total revenue. That means Xbox One game sales are behind that of its rival the PS4 by a considerable chunk.
As expected, Nintendo’s platforms make up a tiny percentage of sales at only 3%.
However despite bringing in over €96.6 million in sales for the quarter ending June 30, Ubisoft have suffered a 73 percent year-on-year decline in sales compared to their last financial year where they made over €360 million in sales, which was contributed to by the release of Watch Dogs.
Ubisoft are also expecting Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate and Rainbow Six: Seige, both of which release later this year, to perform well and bring in even more revenue.
