Ultra Instinct Goku to Join Dragon Ball FighterZ

Joining Super Smash Bros. Ultimate with the roster announcements, one of this generation’s other greatest fighting games, Arc System Works and Bandai Namco’s Dragon Ball FighterZ, has announced via the V-Jump magazine that Goku’s Ultra Instinct form will be joining the game.

While that’s all the magazine had to announce, this will be the seventh version of the manga and anime’s protagonist, Goku, that will be playable in the game (including fusions, such as Vegito, Gogeta and Goku Black). It was also previously datamined following the release of Broly (DBS) through a leaked cutscene recreating the finale of Dragon Ball Super’s Tournament of Power.

It is still unconfirmed if this will point towards a possible Dragon Ball FighterZ Pass 3, although Ultra Instinct Goku will likely be announced at the Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour Finals in Paris on February 8th and 9th.

Dragon Ball FighterZ originally launched on January 26th, 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC and was followed up with a Nintendo Switch port in September of that year. Throughout 2018, eight characters were added through the FighterZ Pass, with six more coming in 2019’s FighterZ Pass 2. The most recent characters were Dragon Ball Super: Broly’s versions of Gogeta and Broly, released in September and December 2019, respectively.
