The Outer Worlds Gets October 25th Release Date

Obsidian Entertainment has announced during Microsoft’s E3 Conference that its upcoming game, The Outer Worlds, will be releasing on October 25th.

In addition to the announcement of the release date, Obsidian also showed off a brand new trailer for The Outer Worlds, which gave us a more in-depth, albeit brief, look at the game, including its beautiful, colourful world. There were also some snippets of gameplay showcasing some of the game’s weapons and physics.

The trailer description calls The Outer Worlds a ‘new single-player first-person sci-fi RPG’.

“Lost in transit while on a colonist ship bound for the furthest edge of the galaxy, you awake decades later only to find yourself in the midst of a deep conspiracy threatening to destroy the Halcyon colony.”

“As you explore the furthest reaches of space and encounter various factions, all vying for power, the character you decide to become will determine how this player-driven story unfolds. In the corporate equation for the colony, you are the unplanned variable.”

Obsidian Entertainment is well known for developing Fallout: New Vegas, and there definitely appears to be some similarities between the two games. The studio has also gone on to find success with Pillars of Eternity.

The Outer Worlds will be releasing on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. The title is included in Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass, while the PC version will be an Epic Games Store exclusive.
