Following the collapse of Telltale Games last year, Mojang has announced that support for Minecraft: Story Mode is ending, with both seasons also set to be pulled from all stores on June 25th.
In their blog post, Mojang also urged everyone who owns Minecraft: Story Mode to download any remaining episodes before the service is discontinued at the end of June. They also recommend that owners download the full seasons with all the episodes to ensure that they can still access them beyond June 25th. Beyond June 25th, even existing owners will no longer be able to download any episodes.
“On behalf of the publisher, Minecraft: Story Mode – A Telltale Games Series, Season 1 and 2 will no longer be supported on June 25th, 2019,” Mojang stated.
“If you have purchased these seasons, please download all remaining episodes prior to the service being discontinued in June.”
They added, “So if you own either season of Minecraft: Story Mode on Microsoft Windows, macOS, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Wii U, Nintendo Switch, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Android, or iOS, you have until June 25th, 2019 to download the episodes. We’d recommend checking you have all the episodes downloaded!”
A number of Telltale’s previous games, including Tales from the Borderlands, have already been delisted from platforms such as Steam. GOG has also recently announced that they will no longer be selling any of Telltale’s games.
