Dying Light’s standalone battle royale game, Bad Blood, will enter into Early Access next month when it releases on Steam.
Bad Blood is Dying Light’s take on battle royale and will see 12 players battle against each other and zombies in an attempt to reach the chopper that will ultimately extract them to safety. Players will need to do the typical stuff that we have come to expect in a battle royale game, such as scavenging for weapons and equipment, although the game will include Dying Light’s famous parkour, as well as a levelling system.
The game will be available to play on PC, as well as consoles, which we assume means PS4 and Xbox One. As of yet, there’s been no official release date for when the game will officially launch; however, PC players will be able to play Bad Blood first as a result of the game releasing on Steam’s Early Access platform in September.
To gain access to the game, you’ll need to purchase the Founder’s Pack, which is available for $19.99. This grants you access to the game on PC and will provide players with in-game currency and exclusive items, including three legendary skins. Bad Blood will be free-to-play when it comes out of Early Access though.
There will be two global playtests before Bad Blood releases on Steam, which will give players an early opportunity to see what the game’s like and to help the developers get ready for Early Access. The first playtest begins on Saturday, August 26th and runs until Sunday, August 27th. The second playtest is available from Saturday, September 1st and ends on Sunday, September 2nd.
You have until August 22nd to sign up for the playtests, which you can do via the Dying Light: Bad Blood website.
