Back at E3 2017, The Pokemon Company teased it was beginning work on new Pokemon titles for Nintendo Switch. This tease has now become a reality as The Pokemon Company today announced Pokemon Let’s Go! Pikachu and Pokemon Let’s Go! Eevee for Nintendo Switch. Both titles will launch worldwide on November 16th.
Pokemon Let’s Go! Pikachu and Eevee will take players back to the Kanto region, the original location of the first generation of Pokemon titles. Both versions of the game are almost remakes of Pokemon Yellow, with new elements from the Pokemon animated series being added in. Each game returns players to Pallet Town, where they must begin their journey again to become Pokemon masters. Depending on which version players have, they will be followed by either a Pikachu or an Eevee. Both versions of the game will add in new mechanics, such as being able to pick up Pokemon with a swing of the Joy-Con controllers (like in Pokemon Go). Drop in co-op has also been announced for the title. Each version of Pokemon Let’s Go! will cost $60.
Pokemon Let’s Go! Pikachu and Pokemon Let’s Go! Eevee weren’t the only Pokemon-related announcements for Nintendo Switch today. A new free to start game called Pokemon Quest was announced and released today, as well as a new Pokeball peripheral for Nintendo Switch (launching alongside Pokemon Let’s Go! in November).
