Metal Gear Survive Physical Sales Disappointing as FIFA 18 Takes Top Spot in UK Charts

Metal Gear Survive has had a disappointing physical launch in the UK. Despite having the Metal Gear name and being one of the bigger releases in February, physical sales of Metal Gear Survive on PS4 and Xbox One were only enough to see Konami’s title secure 6th place in the UK Video Game Charts.

The UK Video Game Charts by Chart-Track only keep track of physical copies sold, so it’s hard to gauge how the game has performed when digital sales are taken into account, but there’s no doubt that Konami will be disappointed that Survive was unable to outsell games like FIFA 18 and Grand Theft Auto V, which never seems to be too far away from the top despite being several years old now.

FIFA 18 claimed top spot again this week, although sales on the Nintendo Switch definitely helped FIFA 18 reclaim the number 1 spot. Grand Theft Auto V comes in at second with Call of Duty: WWII going strong in third. There’s no room for Kingdom Come: Deliverance though, which was last week’s number 2.

Recent releases Monster Hunter: World and EA Sports UFC 3 come in at places fourth and fifth, respectively.

Here is this week’s top 10 in full.

  1. FIFA 18
  2. Grand Theft Auto V
  3. Call of Duty: WWII
  4. Monster Hunter: World
  5. EA Sports UFC 3
  6. Metal Gear Survive
  7. Shadow of the Colossus
  8. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
  9. Super Mario Odyssey
  10. Assassin’s Creed: Origins
