It Looks Like Spotify Will Launch on Xbox One Very Soon

After last week’s reports that the Spotify app for Xbox One was being tested and would be making its way to the console very soon, we’ve now got confirmation that Spotify will indeed be coming to Xbox One, and it looks like it might be releasing very soon.

That’s because Spotify’s product page on the Xbox Store has gone live, which suggests that the release of the app is imminent. Up until now, Spotify has only been available on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 since March 2015, with Xbox One owners missing out on the chance to use the music streaming app on Microsoft’s console. Since being made available on Sony’s platforms, over 5 billion tracks have been streamed.

According to the app’s listing on the store, the Spotify app will allow you to listen to your own music while playing any game. Through the app, you can also browse for songs, albums and playlists. Not only that, but you can do all of the above through your phone or tablet, meaning you won’t even have to leave the game you’re playing to change the song. The app will also require 1.07 MB – 1.67 MB of storage space, so you’ve got some time to have a clear out to make some room if needed.

The listing states, “Soundtrack your gaming with the new Spotify app, free on Xbox One. Listen to your favorite music as you play any game, and browse playlists for every mood using your Xbox One Controller. Take listening to the next level with Spotify.”

Spotify is free to use for everyone; however, those who have a Spotify Premium subscription will be able to enjoy all of the features ad-free and with higher-quality audio.
