NieR: Automata Receives Its First DLC Pack with Tributes to Its Predecessor

Square Enix has just issued a press release announcing the first DLC pack for open-world action/adventure game NieR: Automata. Titled 3C3C1D119440927, this DLC introduces three colosseum for new challenges, accompanied with additional sub-quests. As a tribute to the predecessor, players that completed those quests will receive special costumes based on characters Kaine and Nier that featured in the PS3 version of previous game NieR (also known as NieR Replicant in Japan).

Alongside the costumes, players will also get bonus items, including equipment, hairspray, masks, and special bullets, as well the opportunity to fight against special guest enemies, like the presidents of Square Enix and PlatinumGames.

NieR: Automata is considered to be a part of the next-gen troika of open-world action/adventures in 2017, alongside other two games The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Horizon Zero Dawn.

It sets its storyline after the fourth ending of NieR, taking place in a post-apocalyptic world during the proxy wars between YoRHa and the invasive android army from a different world. Critics and gamers praised NieR: Automata with its innovating combat gameplay, captivating story and characters, and striking audio and visual designs. The PC version also gained positive reception for its highly polished port, despite having some technical issues during the first days.

The DLC pack 3C3C1D119440927 is going to launch in Japan on 2nd May for the price of 1,500 yen, while North America and Europe will receive it at a later date.
