Call of Duty 2017 Developer, Sledgehammer Games, Wants to Create a “Fresh New AAA Aural Experience”

This year’s Call of Duty is being developed by Sledgehammer Games, who have recently posted a job ad looking for a sound designer. With the studio remaining quiet on what we can expect from Call of Duty 2017, this advert may provide some clues as to what kind of experience Sledgehammer Games are trying to create with the next COD game.

In the job advert, spotted by Gaming Bolt, Sledgehammer Games state that they are seeking a sound designer “to help create a fresh new AAA aural experience” for their next project which could be this year’s Call of Duty game.

“Sledgehammer Games is looking for a passionate and experienced game Sound Designer to help create a fresh new AAA aural experience for our next project,” the ad states. “You will be involved in virtually every aspect of game audio content development alongside one of the most passionate and experienced audio teams in the industry.”

There have been rumours that Call of Duty 2017 will return the franchise to its original roots and could be set during World War II. Rumours have also appeared online which suggest that Sledgehammer Games will be taking the series to Vietnam, although nothing has been confirmed yet by the studio or Activision.
Sledgehammer Games’ Glen Schofield did provide some details recently on Twitter about Call of Duty 2017 though, stating that there were “boots and ground” and that there were “some roots” for the game.
Schofield did say though that this is their best yet, and that gamers will go nuts when they reveal the game which is expected to take place in May with more details coming at E3.
