How to Earn Pure Drops of Rain in Fortnite

If you’ve played Fortnite already, you will know how valuable Pure Drops of Rain are and just how hard they are to come across. Being a non-lootable resource, there are only a few ways that players are able to get hold of some, and that makes it extremely valuable.

In Fortnite, Pure Drops of Rain are used to evolve heroes, schematics, survivors and defenders, so they are essential in obtaining the very most powerful items in the game. Unfortunately, they are incredibly rare, with 10 Pure Drops of Rain being needed for an Epic two-star evolution and 20 for a Legendary one. Even for an Uncommon (green) evolution, you’ll need 7 pure drops.

Let’s take a look at the three ways that you can earn Pure Drops of Rain in Fortnite:

Quest Rewards

Every time you complete a quest in Fortnite, you’ll receive rewards. These are given at the end of a mission once you’ve successfully completed it and can contain anything from XP to V-Bucks to our much needed Pure Drops of Rain.

The rewards you receive will depend on the mission level, region and threat level, with the more difficult missions usually offering better rewards. Only a few missions at a time may contain Pure Drops of Rain as a reward, so you’ll need to look carefully at all the available missions on the map to see which ones reward you with rain drops. When you find one that does, you’ll probably notice that it doesn’t give you loads of Pure Drops, but you can start building up a nice stockpile of Pure Drops of Rain if you complete these missions on a regular basis. If you can get a few friends together, speed runs are the quickest way to farm these.

Aside from completing missions, keep an eye on your Daily Quests as well as they can sometimes grant you these elusive Pure Drops of Rain as a reward.

You’ll be evolving those heroes in no time…hopefully!

Loot Llamas

The easiest way to earn yourself some Pure Drops of Rain are through Loot Llamas. The only problem is that they are incredibly rare drops. Still, they do drop on occasion, and you’re probably opening Loot Llamas all the time, so keep an eye out.

As always, it goes without saying that the higher tier the Loot Llama, the more likely it is that you’ll stumble across some Pure Drops of Rain.

Collection Book

The last way that you can earn Pure Drops of Rain is by filling out your Collection Book. The Collection Book allows players to get rid of any heroes, schematics, defenders or survivors that they have and no longer need or want. All you have to do is place them into the Collection Book which helps level it up. Each time you level up the book, you get rewards with the higher levels granting better rewards.

The higher the level and the rarer the item that you put into your Collection Book, the more experience points it will reward you. However, you should be aware that once you retire an item to your Collection Book, you no longer have access to it and it’s gone forever, so it’s a good idea to make sure you have better items or a replacement lined up before submitting your higher tier stuff.

Every time the book is levelled up, the player will be granted with rewards ranging from XP to V-Bucks to Pure Drops of Rain. You won’t receive Pure Drops every time you level up the book though, with the rain drops being rewarded at certain levels.

Summary

The best way to earn Pure Drops of Rain is to do all of the above as often as possible. Completing daily quests and missions can be the quickest way to farm Pure Drops of Rain, but don’t forget to level up your collection book as well. If you’re anything like me, you may have neglected it a bit during the early game.

Fortnite is currently available to play on PS4, Xbox One and PC, although it is in Early Access. However, the game is set to go free-to-play in 2018.
